GREENSBORO, N.C. Sheri A. Raymer, the CEO of Greensboro’s Eagle Physicians and Associates, will share insights from her experience transitioning to electronic healthcare records Thursday, Nov. 19.

Her talk, “Electronic Medical Records and Change Management: Why It’s Good That Things Are Not the Way They Used to Be,” will start at 4 p.m. in Bryan Building, Room 160. The event is open to the public at no charge and is sponsored by the McDowell Research Center for Global IT Management housed in UNCG’s Bryan School of Business and Economics.

Raymer, who has more than two decades of health care experience and executive leadership, joined Eagle Physicians and Associates in November 2008. She implemented her first electronic medical records system in 2000. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public health and a master’s degree in health care administration from UNC Chapel Hill. She’s also a member of the Medical Group Management Association and is a board-certified medical practice and ophthalmic executive.

Raymer’s topic is one of great interest both inside and outside of the healthcare field, said Dr. Prashant Palvia, director of the McDowell Research Center.

“Sheri is one of those individuals who has a great deal of experience in this area going back several years,” he added. “We are pleased to be presenting an individual as part of our lecture series who can educate the public from firsthand experience on the progress and challenges of implementing electronic medical records.”

The McDowell Research Center is dedicated to the study of adoption, implementation and management challenges in utilizing information technology.
