Faculty Promotions Announced at UNCG

GREENSBORO, NC – Faculty members at UNCG have been granted promotions, effective Aug. 1. Announced by Chancellor Patricia A. Sullivan, the promotions to full professor from the rank of associate professor were awarded to:

  • Dr. Daniel L. Bibeau, Department of Public Health Education.
  • Dr. Elizabeth Chiseri-Strater, Department of English.
  • Dr. Joseph A. DiPiazza, School of Music.
  • Dr. Jill I. Green, Department of Dance.
  • Dr. Esther M. Leise, Department of Biology.
  • John Wolf, Department of Theatre.

Other faculty members were promoted from assistant professor to associate professor and granted permanent tenure. They are: Dr. Geoffrey D. Baym, Department of Broadcasting & Cinema; Rachel Briley, Department of Theatre; Dr. David A. Carlone, Department of Communication Studies; Dr. Gavin D. Douglas, Dr. Elizabeth L. Keathley, Dr. Brett Nolker and Dr. Robert A. Wells, School of Music; Dr. Igor Erovenko, Department of Mathematics & Statistics; Dr. Gregory P. Grieve, Department of Religious Studies; Dr. Lauren A. Haldeman, Department of Nutrition; Dr. Jeff W. Jones, Department of History; Dr. Todd F. Lewis, Department of Counseling and Educational Development; Dr. Patrick L. Lucas, Department of Interior Architecture; Dr. Yashomati M. Patel, Dr. David L. Remington, Dr. Olav Rueppell and Dr. John E. Tomkiel, Department of Biology; and Dr. Alexandra W. Schultheis, Department of English.

Dr. Mark D. Hens, tenured assistant professor, Department of Biology, was promoted to associate professor. Permanent tenure was conferred to Dr. Vincent T. Francisco, associate professor, Department of Public Health Education.
