Dance Department Announces Fall 2005 Season

UNCG Department of Dance’s fall 2005 season will include pieces by faculty members John Gamble and Jan Van Dyke, music by Frank Vulpi, and choreography and performances by graduate students.

All performances will be at the UNCG Dance Theatre in the Health and Human Performance Building, corner of Walker Avenue and Kenilworth Street.

This year’s performances include:


• 8 p.m. Sept. 1. “Songs You May Know: An Evening of Music with Frank Vulpi” with guests Sandy Blocker, John Gamble, Gerri Houlihan and Jennifer McNure. Free.

• 8 to 10 p.m. Sept. 8-10. North Carolina Dance Festival 15th season. Tickets $6-$12. For more information, visit the web site.
          o Sept. 8. Wesley Williams Urban Dance Theater, Duane Cyrus, Nicole Laliberte', Shouze Ma,
           Eluza Santos and Barry Stoneking (all from Triad area).

          o Sept. 9. Jan Van Dyke (Greensboro), Niki Juralewicz (Chapel Hill), Gerri Houlihan

          (Durham), and Robin Harris (Raleigh).
          o Sept. 10. alban elved (Winston Salem), Nickwalk Dance Project (Raleigh), Martha

          Connerton (Charlotte), and B.J. Sullivan (Winston Salem).

• 8 p.m. Sept. 24. Alumni Dance Concert featuring Sherone Price (BFA ’92), Jonathan Meyer (BA ’96), Alex Smith (BFA ’01), Rebekah Kennedy (MFA ’02), and Renay Aumiller (BA ’04). Tickets: $5 - $10.

• 8 p.m. Nov. 10 to 12; 2 p.m. Nov. 12. Faculty Concert. This annual concert features choreography and performances by members of the Department of Dance faculty, and typicallyfeatures undergraduate and graduate students. Tickets $5 - $10.

• 8 p.m. Dec. 2, 3; 2 p.m. Dec. 2. Departmental Dance Concert. This concert, held once every semester, provides an opportunity for students and faculty to show of the work they’ve done throughout the semester. Tickets $5 - $10.
