Classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a research university with “high research activity,” UNCG encourages the pursuit of learning and the discovery of new knowledge. In addition to striking a balance with teaching, UNCG research emphasizes partnership. Many of the studies conducted here are dedicated to improving quality of life. Faculty members collaborate both with each other and with community partners on meaningful, interdisciplinary research projects. And even at the undergraduate level, students have the opportunity to work alongside faculty on projects.
